May 6, 2023

Mugafi, the leading online music platform, and Smule, the most downloaded singing app of all time, came together to launch “Swar Samrat,” India’s biggest talent hunt for singers. The competition aims to discover hidden singing talent from all corners of India and provide them with a platform to showcase their skills to industry experts.

The competition started on April 13, 2023, and will continue for one month. It is open to all Indian citizens above the age of 18 who love to sing. The organizers are expecting a large number of participants, as the last season received over 100k+ entries.

The participants are judged based on vocal quality, pitch accuracy, rhythm, and overall performance. The competition is judged by a panel of industry experts curated by Mugafi. The judges provide constructive feedback to the participants to help them improve their skills.

The winners of the competition will get a chance to compose music for a Bollywood movie, a dream come true for many aspiring singers. The top 50 winners will get a 100% scholarship to join Mugafi Musician’s Club, through which they will get training to further hone their skills and create music for different brands and labels. The next top 100 performers will get a chance to learn singing online from industry veterans like Udit Narayan, Monali Thakur, and others.

The “Swar Samrat” competition is more than just a singing competition. It is an initiative to promote the creator community by helping them create high-value monetizable IPs. This opportunity opens doors for budding artists to earn a sustainable income from their art.

Tansha Batra, Head of Partnership at Mugafi, said, “Intending to hunt India’s finest music and musicians, we are thrilled to provide this opportunity with Smule, which will let budding artists from different corners of India showcase their talent and be able to learn from experts and create high-value monetizable IPs, all from the comfort of their home.”

Smule President Bill Bradford said, “Music is a universal language that has the power to break down barriers and unite people from all walks of life. Smule is proud to partner with Mugafi to offer a platform for aspiring singers to express themselves and share their voices with the world. We embrace the belief that talent is limitless and are eager to explore the diverse landscape of voices within our Indian community.”

The “Swar Samrat” competition promises to be an exciting event for music lovers across India. It is an opportunity for aspiring singers to showcase their talent, receive constructive feedback from industry experts, and take their first steps towards a successful music career.
